I’ve been very neglectful of the blog – tsk tsk. The thing is, we’ve been so busy preparing for spins & needles 4-year anniversary events in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal!
We’re superexcited to be bringing you interactive art + music parties in three of Canada’s largest cities. We’ll be blending the visual arts, craft, technology, projects + DJs to bring you some rockin’ good times.

OTTAWA

When: Thursday February 12th @ 7:00 -11:00 p.m.
Where: National Gallery of Canada (380 Sussex Dr. @ St. Patrick St.)

Cover: $12 (Members: $10). Tickets for purchase at the ticket counter. Includes all project materials and instructions. Also includes guided tours of the contemporary collection from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

DJs Jason Pelletier and Meterman mix up some disco, funk and Chicago house beats.
Project: Pop Art Self-Portraits
Gallery Studio
Experience 15 seconds of fame – have your photo taken then converted into a paint-by-number project to fill in.
Project: Robot Light Creatures (Blinkybugs)
Water Court Foyer
Build simple, electro-mechanical creatures that respond to their environment by blinking their L.E.D. (light emitting diode) eyes.
Project: DIY Valentine Love Letters
Water Court Foyer
Decorate, collage, write, draw or type that card to a special someone. Vintage typwriters on hand.
Guided Tours: Contemporary Collection: Caught in the Act: The Viewer as Performer
Meeting point: Near coat check area
7:00-9:00 p.m. Gallery interpreters will host guided tours of the contemporary collection. Tour times to be announced at the event. This will be one of the last chances to catch the show before it ends on February 15th.
Plus prizes, mini birthday bundt cakes, and other surprises.

A night of DJs mixing beats + creative types making stuff hits up the funky neighbourhood bar Le Divan Orange on the Main.
When: Sunday, February 15 @ 9:00 p.m. onwards
Where: Le Divan Orange Lounge (4234 Blvd. St-Laurent @ Rue Rachel)
Cover: $6 (includes all materials + instructions) 19+
DJs: DJ Jason Pelletier + B’Ugo + Uzi will hit the decks throughout the night spinning some jackin’ house, funk, disco, techno and other assorted funky beats.
Projects: SHRINKY DINKS! We’re super excited to be bringing an all-time favourite craft. It involves drawing, plastic, and a little toaster oven. You have to see it to believe it!

A night of DJs mixing beats + creative types making stuff hits up Toronto and takes over the hall of renowed dance space Dovercourt House.
When: Saturday March 14 @ 9:00p.m. onwards
Where: Dovercourt House (805 Dovercourt Rd., 1 block N of Bloor St. )
Cover: $8, 19+
DJs: DJ Jason Pelletier + special guests will hit the decks throughout the night spinning some jackin’ house, funk, disco, techno and other assorted funky beats.
