Local Happening: Allyson Mitchell and Martha Colborn at SAW Gallery

Last Thursday I attended the opening of a new exhibit at SAW Gallery in Ottawa that will definitely please crafty and design types. Allyson Mitchell (Toronto), who is well-known in Canadian craft circles, and Martha Colborn (New York/Amsterdam) exhibit their work together for the first time integrating sculpture, props, and design to create touching and gritty narratives. The exhibition mixes animation, collage and the cutting up of popular imagery.

The show runs until November 14th.
