Revamping Spin off Stuff Blog - Work Area

Revamping Spin off Stuff Blog - Sketch

You may have noticed that Spin Off Stuff looks a little bit different today… the blog is getting a makeover! I wanted to make a few changes like move posts to the centre of the page, add new feature buttons to make it easier to navigate and get to the content you want, add more categories, etc. It’s been a bit tedious with several challenges but so far so good…I’m hoping to be done this weekend and will let you know soon how it went.

We just wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and happy (handmde) holidays, wherever you are in the world. May you have a wonderful and relaxing holiday with your family and friends.

Seasons Greetings from Spins & Needles!

Don’t forget our call for submissions to the Winterlude Urban Cozy Project – the perfect way to spend some downtime you have during the week, especially if you’re stuck in your house due to cold weather or trying to avoid the malls altogether!

See you in 2010, when we’ll be celebrating Spins & Needles 5-year anniversary with lots of great programming!

So…as part of a new year’s goal, I’ve finally gotten everything together and will actively start posting this blog. (If any of you stumbled upon this page by accident beforehand, you would notice the “Hello world!” post was up there for about a year and half!)

When the blog was created in September 2007, the original idea was to chronicle life as the crafty half of the spins & needles duo, combined with my return to academic life in London, UK for a year. But a busy year combined with a stubbornness to design a blog I could be proud of and one that was hosted on the spins & needles site, led to one delay after another…

But finally! I am superexcited to start blogging.

A few things to note:

  • Since I’ve procrastinated for so long, you’ll notice that some of the posts are about creative/crafty people, places and things I’ve encountered in the last year and a half or so. Please excuse me for posting quite after the fact, but a lot of this stuff is, I think, still relevant and worth sharing.
  • For the most part, the blog is good to go but there’ll be some tweaks here and there as I try to get the hang of this.

Happy reading!
